Draft for legal review. Last edited 2 September 2026. This is a template written for an EU online pet supplies shop. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer, and the details in [square brackets] still have to be filled in. It must be reviewed by the client’s legal counsel before the shop takes an order.
A cookie is a small file this site asks your browser to keep, so that the next page knows something the last one did: that you are signed in, what is in your basket, or that you have already answered this notice.
Cookies that are strictly necessary to give you what you asked for do not need your permission. Everything else does, and we ask before setting it rather than after. Nothing non-essential is set until you say yes, and “no” is as easy to click as “yes”.
What is set today
There are no advertising cookies on this shop and nothing is shared with advertisers. The first two below are set by Furland itself and are needed for the site to work. The last two belong to Google Analytics, and they are set only if you switch analytics on — until then the tag is not loaded at all, so nothing is sent to Google.

A basket cookie joins this table when checkout is built. It is strictly necessary, a basket you cannot keep is not a basket, so it will not need your consent, but it will be listed here before it ships.
Analytics
We count which pages get used, so we know what to fix. That is Google Analytics, and it is listed in the table above with its purpose and how long it keeps its cookies.
The switch in the banner is off until you turn it on, and while it is off the Google tag is not loaded — not loaded and disabled, not loaded in a limited mode, but absent from the page, so no request reaches Google at all. Turn it off again later and the tag stops immediately, without waiting for you to move to another page.
Changing your mind
Withdrawing consent has to be as easy as giving it, so here is the same panel you saw the first time:
You can also clear cookies for this site in your browser settings, which wipes the record of your choice, so the banner will ask again. Blocking essential cookies entirely will stop the basket and sign-in from working.
How long your choice lasts
Six months, then we ask again. We also ask again if we change what the categories cover, because an answer given about a shorter list is not an answer about a longer one.
